Interdisciplinarity is frequently advocated - but how can it be meaningfully put into practice, and what does it signify within the context of Irish and British studies and diplomacy?
This event offers valuable insights from the Ambassadors of Ireland and the United Kingdom to Germany on bilateral priorities and their perspectives on the evolving relationships between their countries and Germany.
It will also provide a unique opportunity to explore multifaceted approaches at the Centre for Irish-German Studies at the University of Limerick and the Centre for Public Administration at Ulster University.
The panel debate Interdisciplinary Approaches to British and Irish Studies takes place at the Centre for British Studies, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin with four prominent experts Professor Dr. Paul Carmichael, Public Policy/Government, University of Ulster; Professor Dr. Gisela Holfter, School of Modern Languages and Applied Linguistics, Centre for Irish-German Studies, University of Limerick; plus the Irish Ambassador to Germany HE Maeve Collins and the British Ambassador to Germany HE Andrew Mitchell CMG.
The panel will be chaired by Professor Dr. Gesa Stedman, Director of the Centre for British Studies, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
