How can sustainable transitions in agriculture help secure clean water in the face of climate change? Where can we look for hope as rising temperatures fuel the spread of disease? Join this Christmas lecture to test and expand your knowledge and find optimism for the year ahead!

This year's Circle U. Christmas lecture kicks off with professor Marnik Vanclooster from UCLouvain, speaking about "Water as an Ecosystem in Times of Climate Change". In this part of the lecture, you will learn about the effects of industrial agriculture on water quality – and about positive examples of sustainable transitions from around the world. Next, Dr. Pascal Grosse from Berlin's Charité and the Global Health Hub will expand on "Water and Climate: Malaria in Europa – Past, Present, and Future". Here, you will hear about the link between global warming and the spread of disease as well as some hope-inducing developments. Be prepared for quizzes and stay for tea and biscuits!

Participation is possible on site or online. For both, please register here!
